Please read these conditions before relying on an Employment Insurance estimate from this site. They govern the calculator, the regional tables and the guides, in English and in French, and you accept them by using any of these pages.

An estimate, not a claim decision

The calculator applies the Employment Insurance Act, Schedule I, the benefit rate and maximum insurable earnings published by the Government of Canada, and the regional unemployment rates in Service Canada’s current table, to the figures you supply. What it returns is an estimate. It gives you no entitlement, does not bind Service Canada, which alone decides your claim, and is not legal, tax or financial advice. myeicanada.com is a private, independent site: it is not run, endorsed or funded by the Government of Canada. The methodology explains what is calculated and what is not.

Accuracy and our liability

We refresh the regional rates for every new period, update the yearly parameters when they change and test the engine, but we cannot promise that every result is exact or complete. Some situations are outside the model: work outside Canada, fishing benefits, special benefits for the self-employed and overlapping claims among them. The site is offered as is, without warranty. To the extent the law permits, we are not responsible for a loss that results from acting only on an estimate, or from the site being unavailable. Errors can be reported through the contact page; the editorial policy explains how we correct them.

Copyright

Under the Copyright Act, the guides, the page design, the compiled data and the code belong to the publisher. Brief quotations are welcome with a link to the page quoted; anything more requires permission. Federal statutes and Government of Canada data remain subject to the reproduction terms of the departments that publish them.

Embedding the calculator

Organisations may show the calculator on their own site in an iframe, free of charge, on two conditions: the credit link to myeicanada.com stays visible, and the presentation does not make the tool look like a Government of Canada service. The code is on the widget page.

Links to canada.ca, the Justice Laws website and other official pages are there for checking our figures. We have no control over those sites and take no responsibility for what they publish.

Personal data and cookies

What you type in the calculators stays in your browser. The site sets Google Analytics audience measurement cookies (_ga, _ga_5N3Q20ST43, 13 months at most), with no advertising; page stability is monitored with Microsoft Clarity, cookie-free. Applicable law
